Refund Policy

Last updated: 15 July 2026

Purpose

This policy explains, in plain terms, how refunds work for a parking session paid through CarSpark. It should be read alongside section 7 of our Driver Terms, which covers the legal position in more detail.

Why there's no automatic cooling-off period

When you pay for parking through CarSpark, your session starts immediately, at your request — that's the whole point of scan-and-go parking. Because the service is delivered straight away, for a fixed period you choose, the law treats it differently from, say, ordering a physical product online: there is no automatic 14-day "change your mind" right once your session has started. This is a standard exemption for time-specific services under UK and Irish consumer law, not something CarSpark or the host has added.

Host-initiated goodwill refunds

That doesn't mean refunds never happen. Each host can issue a one-click, full refund for any session, directly from their CarSpark dashboard — this refunds the tariff amount and our driver service fee in full. This is a discretionary, goodwill mechanism the host controls, not a statutory right you can demand. Common reasons a host might issue one include:

  • You paid for the wrong site, vehicle, or duration by mistake.
  • A genuine problem with the car park meant you couldn't use the space you paid for.
  • The host simply chooses to offer a refund as a gesture of goodwill.

If you believe you're owed a refund, the fastest route is to contact the host directly — their name is on your receipt and the confirmation page. If you can't reach the host, contact CarSpark support at [[SUPPORT EMAIL]]and we'll help you get in touch.

How refunds are paid

Refunds are processed by Stripe, back to the original payment method used (card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay), directly from the host's Stripe account. CarSpark never holds your funds at any point, so a refund always comes from the host's own account via Stripe, not from CarSpark.

Timescales

Once a host issues a refund, Stripe typically returns funds to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, though your bank or card issuer's own processing time can add a little longer.

Contact

Questions about a specific refund: contact the host first (details on your receipt), or email CarSpark support at [[SUPPORT EMAIL]]. General questions about this policy: [email protected].
